KABUL: The No. 2 US commander in Afghanistan, Lieutenant General Curtis Scaparrotti has said the Nato supply, closed by Pakistan, has not affected their operation as supply is continuing through alternate routes.

Briefing the Pentagon officials via teleconference, the commander said the US has built alternative supply routes and has been able to get what it needs for the war.

It has not really affected and will not do so in future, Scaparrotti said, adding US forces have still so many challenges in Afghanistan.

He said they have serious concerns over militants safe haven in Pakistan.
