CHAMAN: At least 14 people were killed while seven others injured in a landmine blast here in the border town of Chaman, Geo News reported.

According to sources, the landmine exploded when a tractor trolley drove over it in the Tooba Achakzai area near the Pak-Afghan border .

Three women and two children were among those killed.

According to the Assistant Commissioner Chaman, local people from the border area were travelling to Tooba Achakzai when the incident took place.

The injured have been shifted to the civil hospital in Chaman.

Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf strongly condemned the blast. The Prime Minister condoled with the bereaved families.

He also directed to provide immediate and best medical facilities to the injured. The Prime Minister directed the provincial administration to take measures for preventing such incidents in future.
