201 street criminals, 104 gamblers held this year

ISLAMABAD: The Capital police have arrested 201 persons involved in street crimes during the current year and recovered 170 mobile phones and looted cash from them possession, said a department spokesman on Sunday.

The drive against the street criminals was launched on the directive of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik.

During this drive, the spokesman said that the police obtained the record of those persons, who had ever remained involved in street crimes and arrested 201 criminals.

During the year, the police also arrested 104 gamblers during various raids in the city and recovered stake money and other items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from them. (APP)
