LAHORE: PML-N president Nawaz Sharif announced Wednesday that all parties including those not in the parliament should be consulted for the setup of a caretaker government.

The PML-N president spoke to the media following a party meeting. Nawaz said that the PPP did not hold local body elections during its tenure but the PML-N was always in their favour and these should be held before the general elections.

In response to a question about the general elections and how parties would fair, Nawaz replied that it remained to be seen who would give a tough time to whom.

The PML-N president stated that the constitution was supreme and that court orders should be implemented regardless of how many prime ministers are dismissed.

When asked about the new CEC, Sharif replied that Fakhruddin G Ebrahim was an honest man and expressed hope that he (Ebrahim) would not show any bias.
