ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf arrived in Afghanistan on a one day visit to hold talks with Afghanistan leadership to find ways to ensure sustainable peace and security in the region.
The prime minister is visiting Afghanistan on the invitation of Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Ashraf will hold a bilateral meeting with President Karzai after which the two leaders are expected to hold a press conference.
The Afghan President will receive the Pakistani premier, who is on his first visit to the Afghan capital, at a formal ceremony at Presidential Palace.
The prime minister will also attend a trilateral Pak-Afghan-UK meeting to discuss prospects of taking forward the peace process in Afghanistan.
The PM is also scheduled to hold meetings with Chairman High Peace Council Salahuddin Rabbani and leaders of Afghan National Front and Truth and Justice Party.
PM Raja will also inaugurate the new complex of Pakistan's embassy in Kabul.
