Olympics: China's Ye Shiwen wins women's 400m medley gold

LONDON: Ye Shiwen of China won the gold medal in the women's 400m individual medley on the opening day of the Olympic swimming meet here Saturday in a world record time.

Elizabeth Beisel of the United States took silver ahead of third-placed Li Xuanxu at the Olympic Park's Aquatics Centre. (AFP)
