KARACHI: Power supply to nearly 30 percent of Karachi has been suspended for more than an hour now, Geo News reported Saturday.

Sources in Karachi Electric Supply Company said that a fault, in two 220 KV and three 132 KV transmission lines, caused this breakdown.

Giving details, the sources further added that 20 out of 64 grid-stations have been affected by the fault owing to which areas like Garden, Jacob Line, Korangi, Defence, Clifton, Lyari, West Wharf, etc were suffering a shutdown.

On the other hand a KESC spokesman told media that company’s technical teams were trying to restore the power supply, which could take more than two hours.
