DALLAS TEXAS: American Muslims of Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) have expressed solidarity with their 'Sikh brothers and sisters in this time of crisis and loss'.

More than 1000 people from various parts of US and belonging to all walks of life gathered at Sikh Temple of North Texas here in Graland Texas to show solidarity with Sikh community.

The event started with a mass prayer for betterment of humanity, followed by representatives of interfaith bodies and other speakers. The ceremony concluded with a candlelight vigil. Elected officials from the Metroplex, other dignitaries, as well as the combined congregations of the local Temples also attended the event.

Officials belonging to Muslim and other communities in their addresses strongly condemned the 'senseless act of violence'. They offered prays for those who were killed or injured and sent condolences to their loved ones.

On the occasion, Sikh community leaders expressed their gratitude for the support and the messages of condolences pouring in from concerned neighbors and other social and religious organizations.

It is pertinent to mention here that a gunman who was later identified as Wade Michael Page, 40-year-old ex-army official, had opened fire and killed seven people at a Sikh Temple of Wisonsin in suburban Milwaukee last Sunday. Later, he attacker had also shot himself to death.
