ISLAMABAD: Sabzi Mandi police Islamabad have arrested two drug pushers and recovered 18 kilogram opium from them while five one-wheelers were arrested for playing stunts on roads and putting their lives at risk, a police spokesman said.
On a tip off, SP Industrial Area Ishaq Warraich constituted special team to conduct search of vehicles under supervision of ASP Yasir Afridi. This police team including SHO Sabzi Mandi police station Asjad Mehmud, Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Khan and Muhammad Afras stopped a truck (Peshawar K-7208) on IJ Principal road for checking. On its search, police team recovered 18 kilogram opium from it and also arrested Ameer Khan s/o Mohib Ullah, Haider Zaman s/o Kala Khan, residents of Malakand Agency.
During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to smuggle this huge quantity of opium from Mardan to Punjab.
Meanwhile Aabpara police arrested five youngsters who were involved in one-wheeling and road-stunts. They were identified as Junaid, Aslam, Khuram Shehzad, Nur Aminand Hamza.
Bhara Kau police station nabbed Faisal Satti s/o Javed Satti and Qamar Israr for their alleged involvement in dacoities in the area.
They looted Syed Nayar Abbass resident of Kohsar town when he was heading to his home.
Secretariat police arrested a thief Sajid Imran and recovered 32 bore revolver and stolen mobile from him.
ASIs Ashfaq Memon and Muhammad Ashfaq arrested Ramazan and Tasawur Abbass for possessing 12 bore gun and one 30 bore pistol respectively.
Bani Gala police recovered 30 bore pistol from a murder accused Zeeshan while ASI Fateh Sher arrested a thief identified as Allah Dita and recovered stolen items worth Rs 80,000 from him.
Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
