QUETTA: An attempt to blow up the Jaffer Express near Kolpur railway station in district Bolan of Balochistan was successfully foiled, while the train after being held up for some hours left for its destination on Sunday, Geo News reported.

Sources said that Jaffar Express on way to Rawalpindi from Quetta was about to reach Kolpur station, when the engineer of the train spotted some suspicious material on the railway line.

The driver informed the concerned officials who later confirmed that a rocket shell filled with explosives was planted beside the line to blow up the approaching Jaffer Express.

The bomb disposal squad reached the scene and defused the explosives and gave clearance for the departure of the train.
