DUBAI: Pakistan's head coach Dav Whatmore was confident his team will perform well in the limited over series against Australia.
The 58-year-old former Australian batsman also believed familiar conditions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) give his side an edge.
Australia will be without injured all-rounder Shane Watson and retired paceman Brett Lee.
The three match series starts in Sharjah on August 28. The other two matches will be played in Abu Dhabi (August 31) and Sharjah (September 3).
The three Twenty20 internationals will be played in Dubai on September 5, 7 and 10.
Talking to reporters on the team’s arrival here on Saturday, Whatmore was confident his team would put up an improved show.
He said there is ample talent and a lot of work has been done on mental strength so the team can be more competitive and consistent. (AFP)
