WASHINGTON: The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is leading a probe of the suicide blast which targeted the vehicle of the US consulate in Peshawar. Two people were killed and 21 others injured when the attacker rammed his explosives-laden car into US consulate vehicle

Two American and two Pakistani US consulate employees were wounded in the bombing, the deadliest attack targeting Americans in the country in more than two years.

During the US State Departments press briefing, spokesman Patrick Ventrell condemned the attack in Peshawar. He added that the US was coordinating with Pakistani authorities but conducted its own investigation when their diplomatic staff is attacked.

The spokesman also thanked the Pakistan government and security agencies for cooperation in the investigation.
