Paramount+ explores dark drama with 'The Serial Killer's Wife'

Paramount+ is embarking on the creation of a British television drama that centers around a seemingly innocent husband who gets arrested for the murder of his former assistant.

The Serial Killer's Wife will feature renowned actors Annabel Scholey, Jack Farthing, and Luke Treadaway. The story is set in a picturesque English town, where Beth Fairchild (Scholey: The Split) has meticulously arranged a surprise birthday celebration for her husband, Tom (Farthing: Rain Dogs).

However, the festivities come to a screeching halt when the police abruptly interrupt the party and arrest Tom on murder charges. Despite Beth's unwavering belief in her husband's innocence, she stumbles upon shocking revelations that cast doubt on his integrity. She confides in Adam (Treadaway), Tom's lifelong best friend, as her worries mount.

The Serial Killer's Wife is a collaboration between Clapperboard Studios and BlackBox Multimedia. Andy Morgan and Mike Benson from Clapperboard serve as executive producers alongside Chiara Cardoso and Giuliano Papadia from BlackBox Multimedia. Laura Way takes on the role of director, with Jonathan Phillips serving as the producer. Suzanne Cowie and Ben Morris contribute as writers.

In parallel, the streaming service has initiated the filming of The Signal, a psychological drama and one of the initial projects resulting from its partnership with Gaumont.
