ISLAMABAD: Chief Commissioner, Islamabad, Tariq Mahmood Pirzada has directed the local government and rural development department, Islamabad to ensure speedy completion of remaining work on new water supply scheme in union council, Rawat and provision of drinking water facilities to the local residents.

He was presiding over a meeting held to review and expedite the pace of remaining work on the new water supply scheme in Rawat.

The meeting was attended by the Director, Development/ Finance, Rana Akbar Hayat, Administrator, Union Council, Rawat, Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Nauman Yousef, Executive Engineer, Saif Ullah Aasi and other officials of local government and rural development, Islamabad.

The participants were informed that 6 kilometer main water pipeline has been laid for new water supply scheme and remaining work is in progress which is expected to be completed within two weeks.

It was informed that 3 water supply schemes are already functional in the area.

Chief Commissioner, Islamabad, directed the officials to ensure speedy completion of remaining work on new scheme and provide sufficient drinking water facilities to the residents. (APP)
