ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has directed all police officials to take effective steps to control crime in the city and adopt professional as well as responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

He stated this while addressing a meeting held to review the crime situation in the city and efforts of Islamabad police in ensuring foolproof security arrangements. The meeting was also attended among others by SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq, all SPs, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers, In-Charge ACLC, and CIA as well as Station House Officers.

The IGP ordered for strict patrolling and vigilance to ensure effective policing and special crackdown against the gambling dens and guest houses involved in immoral activities.

He ordered to ensure arrest of proclaimed offender and other criminals involved in crimes of heinous nature and are still at large.

He also directed police officials for strict monitoring of those ever-faced imprisonment in car lifting or involvement in other criminal activities.

He categorically asked all police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens.

He said those police officials responsible in delaying the registration of cases and doing sluggish investigation would not be spared and strict disciplinary action would be taken against them.

The IGP directed the police officials to be polite with their staff and brief those deputed at the police pickets to keep them alert to avoid any untoward incident.

He also asked to take welfare steps for policemen especially those performing duties at police pickets during night.

He said that corrupt elements bringing bad name to the department will not be spared and urged all police officials to serve humanity.

"Policing is a service oriented job and every police official must serve the humanity with devotion," the IGP maintained.

He said that FIRs must be registered at police stations on merit and without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens.

Bani Amin Khan said that Islamabad Police is determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone will be leave unturned to accomplish this responsibility.
