SANAA: Security forces on Thursday managed to drive out protesters angry over a film mocking Islam who stormed the US embassy in the Yemeni capital, an AFP correspondent said.

All protesters who breached the fence of the American mission in Sanaa have been ejected, the correspondent reported.

Earlier, angry protesters stormed the complex of the US embassy in Sanaa, defying efforts by riot police to hold them at bay.

Protesters torched a number of diplomatic vehicle as security forces used water cannons and warning shots in a bid to drive them out. (AFP)
