SBCA rejects media reports on Baldia blaze tragedy

KARACHI: Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has rejected media reports that SBCA was among government institutions responsible for Baldia blaze tragedy and termed these claims baseless.

According to a statement, SBCA spokesperson said the factory was located in SITE Industrial area and its all rights pertaining to construction plan approval and clamping down on illegal constructions belonged to SITE management. He added that SBCA had no interference in their authority.

Spokesman said blaming SBCA for the incident was totally a baseless and an unfounded claim.
