COLOMBO: West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and decided to bat first against Australia in the second semi-final of the World Twenty20 Cricket 2012 here at the R Premadasa Stadium on Friday.
The winners will qualify to play the Sunday’s final against hosts Sri Lanka, who had defeated Pakistan by 16 runs in the first semi-final on Thursday.
Both teams made one change each from their previous games.
The West Indies brought in all-rounder Dwayne Bravo in place of batsman Darren Bravo whereas Australia included David Hussey for the first time in the tournament after leaving out Glenn Maxwell.
