Four dacoits killed in police encounter in Karachi

KARACHI: Four dacoits were killed in an alleged police encounter in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of the city on Saturday morning, Geo News reported.

According to police, the encounter took place around 9.00 am in block 4 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal near Disco Bakery when robbers entered in the house no. D-1 owned by Ali Mudassir with intention of committing robbery. However the police rushed to the spot as the neighbors informed then hearing the cries of inmates of house.

As the Police besieged the house to foil robbery bid, the robbers opened fires which were retaliated.

A police official said that four bandits were seriously wounded but died before they could be taken to hospital.

One of the killed robbers was clad in a veil while police recovered arms from their possession, sources told.

The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for the medico-legal formalities. The identity of killed robbers couldn’t be ascertained yet.
