ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday said the government, the Army and the Parliament are not against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Addressing the National Assembly session this evening, Nisar said, “We are willing to talk to MQM on any issue at all,” adding that, “the problem is the speeches of MQM chief Altaf Hussain.”

The interior minister went on to say that the statistics that are depicted by MQM members are completely inaccurate.

He further said that Altaf’s policies have escalated the situation to such an extreme limit that ‘damage control’ will take time.

Nisar claimed that there has not been as much peace in Karachi during the last five years as there has been in the last one month.

The minister added that the Rangers have been ordered to not arrest any Parliamentarian without asking first.

Regarding the Kasur child abuse scandal, he said it was a heinous crime and the entire nation has similar views on the issue.
