ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and MNA, Dr Farooq Sattar on Monday submitted a list in the National Assembly, which he claimed carries names of 41 party workers killed extra-judicially.

Speaking in the house, Sattar said 150 MQM workers have been forcefully disappeared in the last seven months and hundreds were on a 90-day remand in Rangers’ custody.

“It was called a provincial matter when we raised the issue in the NA,” said the MQM leader.

“Our 41 workers have been killed extra-judicially, where shall we go and raise our voice if not in the National Assembly or Senate,” he questioned.

“Karachi operation was launched on our demand… however, several MQM activists were taken in custody by Rangers and Police instead,” said Dr Sattar.

Dr Sattar, who is also MQM’s Parliamentary leader in the lower house, went on to say that peace prevailed in Karachi in July only because criminals were made to leave the city and not due to arrests and 'forced disappearances' of his party workers.

Taking names of Lyari gangsters Uzair Baloch, Baba Ladla, Taju, Sheraz Comrade and Jangu Baloch, he said if these are arrested then he would acknowledge restoration of peace in the port city.
