Jacob LaGrone, 29, a groom who just achieved social media stardom for a viral opulent wedding appeared in a Tarrant County courthouse on Thursday for allegedly opening fire at three police officers in Texas in March.
According to the Washington Post, he was charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a public worker, a first-degree felony in the state.
People reached out to LaGrone's attorney for comment but did not receive a response right away.
Westworth Village city authorities told WFAA 8 that on March 14, 2023, C Munoz of the Westworth Village Police Department and C Wilson and J Dunlap of the Westover Hills Police Department "were fired upon" while responding to a complaint of a firearm discharge.
An indictment obtained by the news station said LaGrone "did intentionally and knowingly threaten imminent bodily injury" to the officers and "did use or exhibit a deadly weapon during the commission of the assault, namely, a firearm."
There was no information supplied about the incident's location.
If convicted, LaGrone risks life in prison or a sentence of no more than 99 years in jail and no less than five years in prison.
According to records obtained by the Dallas Morning News, the Tarrant County District Attorney offered the Nashville native a 25-year prison sentence.
LaGrone's wedding to Madelaine Brockway was dubbed "the Wedding of the Century" by many media sites after the couple reportedly spent $59 million on the five-day extravaganza in Paris, France.
The couple spent no money on an overnight stay at the Palace of Versailles, a special lunch at the Chanel Haute Couture Suite, a rehearsal dinner at the Paris Opera House, and a Maroon 5 reception concert.

Brockway, 27, is the daughter of Bob Brockway, the proprietor of a Mercedes-Benz business in Florida. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is a self-employed businesswoman residing in Fort Worth.
