KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman Nadeem Sarwar rebutted a news item that the board has allowed banned pace bowler Mohammad Amir to use its training facilities at the National Cricket Academy and that it has contacted ICC to get the ban on Amir to be reduced.
A news item which appeared in a section of media claimed that the board had allowed the banned pacer Amir to use NCA’s training facilities and also contacted ICC to get Amir’s ban reduced so that the pacer could be included in the squad for the forthcoming tour of South Africa.
"The news item is totally incorrect and is based on wrong intentions. The PCB is following all ICC instructions, and there is no question of allowing Amir the use of official facility until he serves the ban or it is removed. The PCB has also not contacted to ICC on this issue", the spokesman said.
