Gandhara Cultural Mela next month

PESHAWAR: Gandhara Hindko Board (GHB) has decided to hold Gandhara Culutral Mela in the first week of January 2012 and convened a special meeting of the executive committee to finalize
arrangements in this regard on December 16.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the executive committee of
Gandhara Hindko Board was held senior member, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi in the chair.

Those who attended were included vice chairman, Dr. Adnan Gul, Secretary, Ziauddin, Taslim Hussein advocate, Ahmad Nadeem Awan, Saeed Pares, Sikandar Hayat, Sajjad Ahmad, Owais and others.

The meeting appreciated the efforts of the organizers for successful holding of the Second World Hindko Conference on November 17 to 18.

The participants of the meeting said that the holding of the conference will help promote all regional languages including Hindko and also peace, love and brotherhood in the province.

The participants of the meeting also expressed gratitude to the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for announcement of
financial support for establishment of Hindko Academy. It said that the allocation of grant had proved that the provincial government is sincere in indiscriminate promotion of literacy and literature. (APP)
