LHC resumes hearing of dual office case

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) resumed hearing the contempt of court petition against President Asif Ali Zardari for not relinquishing his political office on Friday.

During proceedings, Chief Justice LHC Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked that not following court orders was tantamount to disregarding the constitution.

Meanwhile, advocate AK Dogar, the counsel for the petitioner said that no person including the president enjoyed immunity from contempt of court. Dogar added that no law or constitution allowed the president to commit criminal acts.
