Rangers arrests 31 in Karachi operation

KARACHI: At least 31 suspects were arrested while several others were detained during targeted Rangers operation in Korangi, Surjani and Ghas Mandi areas of the city.

Weapons which include sub-machine guns along with satellite phones have been recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects during the operation.

1,000 Rangers are taking part in the operation and entry and exit points of the area have been sealed. Sniffer dogs are also being used during the door-to-door searches.

According to the spokesman for the Rangers, during the operation in Surjani and Ghas Mandi 24 people including a target killer and arms supplier were arrested. The target killer is affiliated with a political party.

Those arrested have been shifted to an unknown location for further interrogation.
