NEW YORK: Malala Yousufzai has finished second on Time magazine’s Person of the Year (POY) list.

Malala who is recovering at a hospital in Birmingham after being shot in the head by the Taliban in Swat was dubbed ‘the fighter’ by the magazine.

Malala was part of the shortlist which also included Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, Bill and Hillary Clinton and US President Barack Obama who received the honour.

This was President Obama’s second time being named Person of the Year as he also received the honour in 2008.
