NAIROBI: At least 28 people were killed Friday in an attack on a village in southeast Kenya, already the scene of deadly tribal violence last summer, a police official said.

The total number of people killed in the attacks was 28, including 19 villagers and nine assaillants, Anthony Kamitu, head of special police forces in the region, told AFP. An earlier report had put the death toll at six.
