LAHORE: Lahore police have smashed two vehicle thief gangs, arrested their six members and recovered 47 stolen cars worth Rs. 25 million in one week.
Police sources said a special police team under the supervision of DSP AVLS Sadar division arrested three brothers and seized 27 stolen cars worth RS 15 million.
The arrested were identified as Fazeelur Rehman and his brothers Amjad and Amer.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing 35 cars in various places of Lahore and Faislabad districts.
A special police team under the supervision of SPO Sabzazar arrested three accused of a car thief gang and seized 20 cars worth Rs 10 million. The arrested were identified Anwar, Amjad and Azam who confessed 114 incidents of car theft in Lahore, Jhang and Faisalabad districts.
