The world’s famous tech entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla Elon Musk has unearthed a new foe as a judge in Brazil, Justice Alexandre de Moraes, has commenced a probe into the billionaire’s illegal conduct.

According to the US media reports, Judge de Moraes earlier ordered that certain accounts on X, former Twitter, be barred in the South American country as there was an ongoing probe into the accounts spreading fake news and intimidating Brazil's supreme court during the tenure reign of President Jair Bolsonaro.

Last week, an account on the 52-year-old Musk’s X Global Government Affairs confirmed that it had been compelled to block "certain popular accounts in Brazil."

But that same day, Musk said X would defy the orders and not block the accounts.

"We are lifting all restrictions," Musk wrote on X, who bought the platform in October 2022 for $44 billion.

"This judge has applied massive fines, threatened to arrest our employees, and cut off access to X in Brazil. As a result, we will probably lose all revenue in Brazil and have to shut down our office there. But principles matter more than profit."

The CEO of Starship urged people to use Virtually Private Networks (VPNs) and that he would share all of de Moraes' demands publicly.

Elon Musk told the Judge to resign from his post or be impeached for violating the country’s constitution.

In response, Judge De Moraes started a separate investigation into the CEO, with a decision, threatening a hefty fine of $20,000 daily.

It said: "The flagrant conduct of obstruction of Brazilian justice, incitement of crime, the public threat of disobedience of court orders, and future lack of cooperation from the platform are facts that disrespect the sovereignty of Brazil."
