Caitlin Clark becomes first pick in WNBA Draft in $17K dress

Caitlin Clark sported a a pricey Prada outfit for the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) Draft ceremony on Monday where she became the first overall pick by for Indiana Fever.
The 22-year-old former National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) star, who will now take the court as a WNBA rookie,wore only the best for the special occasion, CNN reported.
She graced the event at New York's Brooklyn Academy of Music in a $17,000 Prada double white satin shirt and skirt, pairing it with an unbuttoned top to reveal an embroidered rhinestone mesh top underneath.
Clark ditched her sneakers for black brushed leather slingback pumps and wore a black Galleria handbag, and acetate sunglasses.
A Prada representative confirmed that this was the first time the luxury brand has dressed an athlete for the National Basketball Association (NBA) or WNBA draft.
Even her boyfriend couldn't resist drooling over Clark in an all-Prada outfit.
Connor McCaffery jaw-dropping and drooling emojis in response to a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, requesting his reaction to Clark’s fit.
Many had expected Clark to be the first pick after as she has helped attract record-breaking TV audiences and sellouts in arenas around the country in her final collegiate season.
"I got a little anxious there before the pick," Clark said on the ESPN broadcast.
She later added: "I've dreamed of this moment since I was in second grade. It’s taken a lot of hard work, a lot of ups and downs, but more than anything, just trying to soak it in."
Stanford’s Cameron Brink became the second overall pick for the LA Sparks and many other NCAA stars including Louisiana State University's Angel Reese and South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso are taking their talents to the WNBA.
