Ludacris cleared the air surrounding his controversial encounter with Justin Timberlake at the 2007 Grammys.

The rap icon set the record straight after an Internet outburst following his revelation of meeting Timberlake backstage at the annual music award.

Appearing on the latest episode of Hot Ones, he clarified if the Cry Me a River singer yelled at him for celebrating his win for best rap album at the prestigious award show.

When asked if Timberlake ‘cursed’ him out backstage, the Fast and Furious alum laughed before admitting that he’s ‘glad’ for bringing up a topic that set the Internet ablaze in the past.

“He definitely meant it, but it was no cursing out”, the 46-year-old rapper added, “He was behind the curtain and I was celebrating so openly and I was so loud”.

“I think it was said more in fun, but there was definitely some truth behind it”, the Act a Fool hitmaker explained, “Like, 'OK, show's not over. Stop celebrating so openly, I haven’t won any yet,' but with a smile on his face type of thing."

The father of four first talked about the event in February 2024, where he disclosed writing his 2006 Release Therapy with the intention of clinching a best album Grammy, after a “decade of loss”.

However, he also raised eyebrows when he mentioned a rather controversial conversation with The Social Network star.
