Justin Bieber and Chris King lived together as housemates over a year nearly a decade ago
Chris King, whose real name was Christopher Cheeks, was fatally shot in Nashville over the weekend.
Fellow artists including Justin Bieber and Machine Gun Kelly paid a heartfelt tribute to rapper Chris King.
According to PEOPLE report, the rapper, who was 32 at the time of his death, had a close association with the Baby singer.
The duo lived together as housemates over a year nearly a decade ago.
Bieber expressed his sorrow on Instagram Story, writing, "Love you bro. This one hurts," and asked his followers to keep King’s family in their prayers.
Machine Gun Kelly also paid his respects, describing King as 'rare.'
The shooting occurred early Saturday morning in an alley while the Don't Close Your Eyes rapper was with his friends.
The Metro Nashville Police Department reported that "the group was hanging out cordially for some time before the three suspects attempted to rob his group of friends. It was then that he heard gunfire and realized he was struck."
