Jennifer Lopez battles AI to save humanity in 'Atlas'
Jennifer Lopez portrays a determined agent in upcoming action sci-fi film, Atlas.
In the trailer released on Tuesday, Lopez playing role of Atlas Shephard, an agent who is tasked with saving the humanity by hunting down, Harlan, the world's first AI, played by Simu Liu.
Harlan, who was originally created to advance human civilization has instead brought it to the brink of destruction.
Atlas, scheduled to release on Netflix on May 24, showcases a future world filled with flying cars and robots.
As per Entertainment Weekly report, the Mother actress defined her role in the film as challenging, she said, "It was like doing a one-woman show, You’re just there, by yourself, imagining everything because it’s all green screen — there was no set to ground you."
Director Brad Peyton also praised Lopez's performance as he told the outlet , "as a solo performer who is accustomed to handling difficult workloads, she was especially suited to take on this challenging role. I tailored my entire approach to capturing her performance."
