Netflix has booked Thandiwe Newton to join the ense­mble for the continuation of the popular drama series,Wednesday.

According to Variety, the streaming giant has expanded the cast with another addition of the British star. However, details of her role are being kept under wraps.

The show produced by the pioneer of goth culture in the film industry, Tim Burton, will reportedly begin filming for the sequel later this month.

Furthermore, the news comes after it was revealed that Steve Buscemi has also been tapped by the streaming platform to allegedly take on the role of Nevermore Academy’s principal.

Now, Netflix has tapped the 51-year-old actress to display her acting finesse in the acclaimed series.

With successful TV Shows like The Slap, Human Resources and Big Mouth and movies including The Pursuit of Happyness and Beloved under her belt, the BAFTA Award winner will grace the screen in the beloved horror comedy.

Bagging four Emmy accolades, the original cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Myers, Isaac Ordonez, Gwendoline Christie, Fred Armisen and Jenna Ortega who will reprise her role as the titular character.
