Lahore Commissioner Randhawa likely to be appointed Islamabad chief commissioner

The interior ministry has submitted a requisition to seek the services of Randhwa in the federal capital

ISLAMABAD: Lahore Commissioner Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa is expected to be appointed Islamabad chief commissioner as the Ministry of Interior has sent a requisition to the Establishment Division seeking the services of the BPS-20 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service.

As per the notification issued by the interior ministry, the senior bureaucrat would be given the responsibilities of the chief commissioner’s office and the Capital Development Authority (CDA). The chief commissioner is also a board member of the CDA, as per the CDA Ordinance.

The official sources said Randhawa would be appointed as the chief commissioner after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s approval. After that, the Cabinet Division would also announce his appointment as the CDA chief, replacing Captain (retd) Anwarul Haq on both the positions.

On the other hand, Director General Administration Aamir Khalil will replace Abdul Razzaq as the DG Resources in the CDA, while Abdul Razzaq would report to the HR Directorate.

Director Administration Fayyaz Ahmad Watto has been given additional powers of DG administration, whereas deputy director general estate has been transferred and posted as DG human resource.

Deputy DG HR Kamran Bakht has been directed to report to the HR department for further posting. A BPS-18 officer of Police Hina Munawwar has been posted in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on deputation.

Meanwhile, the six senior public officers have been nominated by the Establishment Division for a course in the National Defence University (NDU). They include Joint Secretary Finance Noreen Bashir, DG Foreign Affairs Tahir Hussain Andrabi, DG Foreign Affairs Ali Asad Gilani, DIG FIA Headquarters Ali Asad Gilani and Joint Secretary Trade Bilal Pasha.
