Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert to produce the next Evil Dead film, directed by indie director Francis Galluppi.

Raimi has kept the franchise alive through the years through direction, screenwriting and producing.

With the success of the 2023 standalone film Evil Dead Rise, the franchise will get another fresh update as Francis has stood up to direct the next film, according to Deadline.

The Los Angeles, California native’s debut project The Last Stop in Yuma County premiered at the Fantastic Fest and is now set to hit the theatres in May.

However, the movies must have impressed the Spider-Man director as he noted, “Francis Galluppi is a storyteller who knows when to keep us waiting in simmering tension and when to hit us with explosive violence. He is a director that shows uncommon control in his feature debut”.

Nonetheless, while the plot of upcoming instalment is kept under wraps, it is said to be an original story by Galluppi, pitched to Raimi.

With Sebastien Vanicek working on a different spin-off story in the same horror franchise, it now presumably makes two Evil Dead films in production.
