Britney Spears, Jamie Spears hash out legal woes

The legal battle between Britney Spears and her father Jamie Spears is over after the pair came to a settlement on a dispute related to the pop icon’s conservatorship.

The case was about the payment of legal fees which the Toxic’s hitmaker’s father demanded must be given to him.

As CBS reported the details were kept under wraps as both parties managed to reach a settlement to avoid potentially going to a trial where they will be forced to wash their dirty linen in public over the controversial legal arrangement that saw the Grammy winner father allegedly control her life’s every aspect for fourteen years though it was set aside in a ruling three years ago.

"It has been our honor and privilege to represent, protect, and defend Britney Spears," the 42-year-old winner's attorney Mathew Rosengart told Fox News Digital.

He continued, "although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete.”

The lawyer added, "As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter."

He noted, “Britney Spears won when the court suspended her father, and Britney Spears won when her fundamental rights and civil liberties were restored."
