CAPE TOWN: Proteas fast bowler Vernon Philander has started the new year in top form after taking five wickets to help dismiss New Zealand for 45 in the first session of the first Test at Newlands on Wednesday.
The Black Caps were left reeling after Philander ran rampant to dismantle the visitors' top order. Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel got the remaining wickets with 2 and 3 scalps respectively and the entire team
was demolished for 45 in 19.2 overs only.
