Barbra Streisand clarifies intent behind Ozempic query to Melissa McCarthy

Barbra Streisand broke her silence on the comment she made on Melissa McCarthy's post.

Streisand recently found herself at the center of social media misunderstanding when she asked McCarthy is she was using the weight loss drug Ozempic.

This question from the later-deleted comment was quickly picked up by fans, leading to some controversy.

However, in response, the Women in Love crooner took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, to clarify her intentions.

She wote, "OMG -I went on Instagram to see the photos we'd posted of the beautiful flowers I'd received for my birthday!"

Streisand further explained, "below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment."
"I forgot the world is reading!" she concluded.

Melissa McCarthy and Barbra Streisand have shared a friendly relationship for years, highlighted by their collaboration on Streisand’s Encore album in 2016, where they performed a duet of Anything You Can Do.
