Altaf Hussain assures Zardari of MQM support

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain has assured President Asif Ali Zardari of his party’s support for the government, Geo News reported.

In a telephonic conversation with the president on Thursday, the MQM supremo said that his party would not let democracy derail.

Altaf Hussain said that the MQM would continue its support for the Pakistan People’s Party led government.

Both the leaders agreed that election would be held on time as per the Constitution. The president lauded MQM’s role for the democracy.

Mr Hussain said that there was no reality in the reports about MQM parting ways with the government.
