Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, known for their iconic roles as Cady Heron and Regina George in Mean Girls (2004), have shown interest in the sequel of their teen comedy, according to a new report.

As per People Magazine, an insider revealed that Lohan, now 37, “wants to do another [Mean Girls] and has a good relationship with her former cast members.”

While speaking of Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert, the source added, “They are her friends and have been. Another film would be great for her and for audiences who loved the original."

Moreover, the source told the publication that McAdams, 45, "would likely do a Mean Girls sequel if everything presented to her made sense," despite her absence during the reunion for a Walmart ad last fall.

The insider continued, “She has no regrets about not doing a Walmart commercial, which is a different thing. She is super busy, but likes her former cast members and would be interested in talking about a sequel if it becomes a reality.”

For those unversed,original Mean Girls (2004) is an American teen comedy film directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey, starring McAdams as queen bee Regina, with Seyfried and Chabert as the Plastics, the group of popular girls in school and Lohan as newly transferred naive teenager.
