Cher opened up about making a comeback after the singer lost all her money and had kids to support.

The If I Could Turn Back Time singer appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show and got candid about her struggles and how she turned her fortunes.

She revealed, “I lost all the money I had worked for at some point. So I had to start at ground zero”.

She continued, “I didn’t know what I was gonna actually do to make a living for my kids”, hence the songstress decided to do something many artists didn’t do in the 1980s — begin a residency in Las Vegas.

“I decided to go to Caesar’s Palace, which was, you know, people didn’t go there, I was like, ‘What’s Elvis [Presley] doing here?’ But people didn’t go to Las Vegas”.

“It really was the elephant’s graveyard”, she added.

The single mother of two performed her first concert residency at the Circus Maximus Showroom at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, titled A Celebration at Caesars Palace.

The 77–year-old also highlighted the challenges she had to overcome and the resillience it took to stay under the spotlight, she shared, “There was one writer who kept saying every year, ‘This is her last year. This is finally her last year. She is so over.’”

“And I said, ‘You know what buddy, I’ll be here when you’re gone.’ And I think I am”, she said humouring the host.
