The immensity of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's super insane wealth can be scoped by the fact that squandering $1 million for him is akin to the average person spending just $1, a scale that’s scary for even to imagine for an average Joe — here’s the math.

His net worth, standing at a whopping $197 billion as of April, is over 1 million times greater than that of a typical American's net worth of $192,700.

Another way to come to terms with the gigantic scale of his wealth is through income. The average US salary at the close of 2023 was $59,384, meaning it would take anyone drawing that wage more than 16.5 years to earn $1 million. So when Bezos spends $1 million, he is throwing away an average person’s 16.5 years’ hard-earned income.

What Bezos buys further illustrates his ginormous affluence. For example, in 2021, he purchased a beachfront property in Maui, Hawaii, for $79 million. This mansion boasts features like an outdoor kitchen and is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation.

In April 2020, he strengthened his real estate portfolio in New York City by purchasing $16 million worth of a three-bedroom condominium on the 20th floor of 212 Fifth Ave.

It is his fifth purchase of an entire floor within the 24-story building. He spent $80 million in acquiring the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th floors in 2019 and also became the owner of a three-story, five-bedroom penthouse along with the two units below it.

Bezos also owns a Gulfstream G650ER private jet worth $65 million.

This list is just the tip of the iceberg of Bezos's assets.
