J.K. Rowling admitted in new interview telling Alan Rickman about his Harry Potter character's story arc long before it made itself to screens.

The bestselling author recorded an interview answering fans queries about her writing process. A preview of this of which has been obtained and transcribed in today’s Times of London.

In the preview, the United Kingdom native revealed that Alan was confused regarding his character’s motives and called her to gain some insight.

She recalled, “He rang me up and said, ‘Look, I’m spinning plates here. I really need to understand what Snape’s up to? Am I a pure baddie?’”.

“He was the only person I told: ‘You were in love with Harry’s mother’”, she confessed.

Dishing more details on his character, the 58-year-old added, “‘You are a double agent. But you do dislike Harry. You can’t overcome your quite visceral dislike of this boy who looks just like your arch enemy.’ So I told Alan Rickman what was coming, way before it came in the movies.”

The mother of three also reflected on Snape’s death in the series as well and shared her distress over having to kill off certain beloved characters.

She reminisced, “I don’t like killing off characters, but it’s part of life, isn’t it? Killing Snape was awful. I always knew he was going to go. I couldn’t bear killing Lupin and Tonks”, mentioning Harry’s professor and his wife before adding, "That was so sad. Oh and Fred [Weasley]”.

It is worth mentioning here that the Die Hard actor portrayed the controversial character in all eight installments of the popular series.
