Taylor Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, has secured its position as the number one album in the United States for the second consecutive week.

As per Variety report, Swift's album achieved an impressive 439,000 album-equivalent units, which makes it the best second-week performance for any album since 2015 when Adele's 25 reached 1.162 million units in its sophomore week.

The album's second-week figures are the highest recorded this year, surpassing even the first-week sales of other major releases like Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, which sold 407,000 units in its debut week.

Of the total 439,000 units counted for the Lover singer's album this week, 107,000 were from direct album sales, and the remainder came from streaming platforms.

Billboard reports that the album accumulated over 428.54 million on-demand streams during this period.

Released on April 19, 2024, The Tortured Poets Department is Taylor Swift's 11th studio album and has generated considerable buzz since its release.

There is speculation that the album draws inspiration from her past relationships with Joe Alwyn and Matty Healey, though Swift has not confirmed any specific references.
