LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the new waste management system has improved sanitary arrangements in the metropolis giving it a new look.

He was presiding over a high level meeting regarding solid waste management system here on Tuesday.

Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan, MPA Mehar Ishtiaq Ahmad, Managing Director Lahore Waste Management Company were also present on the occasion.

He said that the modern system of cleanliness was continuing successfully in 101 union councils of Lahore while it would
soon be introduced in the remaining union councils.

He said that after the success of the modern sanitation system in
Lahore, it would be extended to five other major districts of the province including Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Multan and Faisalabad. He said that there is a need to promote public awareness regarding importance of cleanliness and a vigorous campaign should be launched for this purpose. (APP)
