Meta-owned instant messenger WhatsApp is bringing a new innovation to its iOS app with the fresh chat theme feature, which will be available in a future update.

WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp has recently submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 24.11.10.70.

As per the WhatsApp news tracker, the theme feature is about the chat bubble colour customisation.

“Through this enhancement, WhatsApp aims to provide users with an even more personalized messaging experience, allowing them to select their preferred color for chat bubbles,” WABetaInfo said.

The said feature is currently under development and WhatsApp is reportedly further refining it by adding a new default chat theme feature.

Here is how the upcoming feature would look:

The future update will bring a section where the users would be able to choose the default chat theme of the app.

“Similar to the theme feature to choose the main branding color of the app, reported with the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.1.10.70 update, it will be possible to select a new color and wallpaper of the default chat theme from a range of five different colors,” the WhatsApp news tracker reported.

The selected colour will automatically become the default chat theme while adjusting both the wallpaper and bubble colour accordingly.

The introduction of diverse colour options will provide users with greater aesthetic freedom for their chats.

It may be noted that the changes made by the users with the upcoming feature will only affect their own chats and not the appearance of receiver’s chats.
