KARACHI: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested four suspects belonging to the proscribed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Geo News reported.

Addressing a press conference, SSP Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the police Chaudhry Aslam said that four suspects affiliated with the Sher Khan group of the terrorist outfit were arrested during a raid in Sultanabad area of Manghopir.

The suspects were identified as Abdul Wahid alias Mama, Karim Khan alias Malang, Shoib Alam and Adil Nawab.

The officer said that 30 Kg explosive material, four hand grenades, three Kalashnikovs, three pistols and cartridges were also recovered from the possession of the accused during the raid.

The SSP said that the accused were involved in bomb blasts, killing of police officers and extortion in Karachi, adding that Adil Nawab had escaped in Bannu Jail break during a Taliban attack. Chaudhry Aslam said that the accused was an expert of making bombs and had been training terrorists.
