RAWALPINDI: All arrangements have been finalized to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) on Friday, in a befitting manner and with religious fervor.

The roads, streets and main buildings in the town have been decorated with colourful lights and buntings. A number of programmes have been chalked out to celebrate the birth of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) with great reverence and devotion. Different Naat committees in the city are organizing Naat competitions to celebrate Eid Milad.

Like every year, the government and religious organizations have planned a number of activities to celebrate the annual event.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi would be observed with religious fervor and respect on Jan 25. As a tradition, Milad-un-Nabi processions would be held in all areas of the town.

Strict Security measures have been taken to maintain law and order on the day. Punjab government has directed to all District and Tehsil administration officers to take strict security measures in this regard.

In this connection the main procession of Milad-un-Nabi would start at 9:30 am in the morning from Jamia Masjid road which after passing from Circular road, Waris Khan, Murree road, Committee Chowk, Iqbal road, Fowara Chowk, Raja Bazaar, would end at central Jamia Mosque Rawalpindi.

The city traffic police Rawalpindi have chalked out a plan for the Eid-Milad-un-Nabi under which 470 traffic officials would be deployed to regulate traffic on city roads on 12 Rabi ul Awwal.

It has also been decided that Ulema and people belonging to all sects of life would play their role in maintaining law and order and would foil nefarious designs of miscreants.

The city district government would set up a control room for the surveillance of processions and for reviewing security arrangements. The control room would work round the clock.

Apart from central procession, a number of gatherings for Naat Khwani and Qirat, Qawwali will be held in the town. Religious scholars and Ulema in their special sermons will highlight the significance of the occasion and ask the people to follow the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to achieve success in this life as well as the Life Hereafter.

Special security arrangements have been made by the district administration to maintain law and order along the route of the procession. The government has issued directives to beef up the security all over the country, especially along the route of procession to counter the enemy designs.

Volunteers of bomb disposal squad and ambulance units will remain stand-by to meet any emergency while units of reserve police will also be deployed on sensitive areas.
